SIL3 BMS system monitors of all safety trips of boiler and burners logics (pre-purge, light-off, shutdown, etc.) as per NFPA normative. BCS system is dedicated to process control for all utilities (boiler, condensate treatment, dearator, fuel gas conditioning skid) and burners combustion control.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

All field instruments are installed in hazardous area; all signals to/from field are isolated with Pepperl & Fuchs ATEX barriers. All nodes (controllers, servers and operator workplaces) are connected with redundant Ethernet LAN (control network), equipped with redundant network managed switches by Hirschmann. Servers, client workstations and network switches are installed into two different rack panels, in separate buildings, connected with redundant fiber optics. The time synchronization on control network is granted with one central GPS time server.
